Our
Registered Nurses use the same holistic approach in treating,
monitoring and administering care. They will guide patients, and their
family members, to the patient's health care rights, responsibilities,
assess the patient's condition, and coordinate all the necessary
skilled services. Skilled services include: -Infusion care -Medication administration -Intravenous infusion (IV) -Wound care -Negative pressure wound therapy -Foley care -Nutritional guidance and compliance -Venipuncture -Nasogastric and Gastronomy care
Psychiatric Nurse
Our Psychiatric Nurses have a master's degree in psychiatric-mental health. They perform the following duties: -Develop nursing care plans -Provide direct nursing care -Administer medications -Carry out treatment strategies, as orders by a physician -Teach classes in mental health topics -Teach family members about the patient's disorder and needs
Physical Therapist
Our
Physical Therapists treat illnesses or injuries by developing
patient-specific exercise, massage or other treatment programs to
improve physical abilities, lessen pain, alleviate movement
dysfunction, prevent injury recurrence and promote maximum
independence. They also instruct the patient and their care family on a
Home Maintenance program intended to help the patient maintain their
level of physical ability. Some of the Physical Therapy programs
include: -Gait training -Ambulation -Transfer skills and coordination
Occupational Therapist
Our
Occupational Therapists help patients become more independent by
enabling them to perform daily activities such as bathing and getting
dressed. They evaluate a patient's physical and mental capabilities
then develop a goal-oriented program to decrease any identified
limitations. Their aim is to help our patients achieve and maintain
maximum independence and success in daily living by improving fine
motor coordination, increasing upper extremities and increasing their
overall self-confidence.
Medical Social Worker
Our
Medical Social Workers help patients and their family deal with the
psychological and emotional anguish associated with an illness. They
are also a critical component in helping the patient connect with the
appropriate referral for additional services.
Certified Nurse Aide
Our
Certified Nurse Aides provide personal patient care under the
supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physical Therapist. They assist
patients with medication reminders, medication preparations as well as
with daily activities, such as bathing, getting dressed, and meal
preparation.
Laboratory Testing
Routine
collection for laboratory testing will be provided*. Transportation of
specimens for laboratory testing, however, will be provided through a
courier company. Some of the common tests include venipuncture, finger
sticks, urinalysis, cultures and stool collection.
*Arterial blood gases will not be drawn by Benevolent Home Health Care, Inc. nurses.
Nutritional Services
Nutritional
services will be provided through licensed dieticians who will consult
with Benevolent Home Health Care, Inc. after evaluating patient's
nutritional status.
Should
patients require referral services, our nurses will be more than happy
to assist with the referral process, from clarifying options to
connecting them with the appropriate community resources such as: -Durable Medical Equipment suppliers (DME) for hospital beds, commodes, wheelchairs, canes, and walkers -Patient transport services -Department of Aging -Homemaker -Meals on Wheels -Palliative Hospice Care providers
